If you read this, you are looking at a very early version of my website on which I will use to publish both my manga Go! Go! Gris! and everything about the world it plays in. But why did I even do it in the year of 2024 where platforms like MangaDex, Manga+, Pixiv etc. exist?
Well for one, I do actually plan to release GGG on multiple platforms as everyone will have their preferred way of consuming their entertainment. But this also leads to something I loath about the current internet. We are bound to adhere by the rules of these platforms and we can only move within the space they give us. That is in regard to both the content we (are allowed to) post as well as how we are able to present our content.
Some platforms (cough webtoons cough) don’t allow suggestive art for example. Other platforms just have an incredibly horrible UI/UX like Patreon. And every user profile ends up looking like the other, because slowly but surely our tools to express ourselves within those platforms were taken away from us. Remember how elaborately you could style your old YouTube profiles?
This is the kind of internet I miss. What the internet was supposed to be. And this website is my way of expressing this desire. I’m building my very own space on this domain, where no one can tell me what to do or what not to do! A space that gathers everything around my passion project that is GGG.
As mentioned in the intro, what you see is a very early and rough version that is filled with placeholder content. However it does already give you a good image of what it will look like in the end.
Here are some of the features it has already:
And some features I want to implement in the future:
There’s a lot of stuff I’m not sure about yet, such as the mobile navigation (or the whole header to begin with) and some UI/UX decisions and stylings. But it’s a process!
Thank you so much for your patience with me. Drawing this manga is the hardest shit I’ve ever done but I’m learning a lot! And when this website is done I hope you’ll have fun exploring it! 🙂
